Steve is best known as a guitarist and later the lead vocalist of the Buzzcocks. They were an acclaimed English punk band that achieved commercial success with singles that fuse pop with rapid-fire punk energy. After an original break up, Diggle formed the band Flag of Convenience. Buzzcocks reformed down the road, and after the death of lead singer Pete Shelley, Diggle took over fronting the band.
